Simple Coping Style Scale (SCSQ) online assessment

Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire (SCSQ) is a psychological measurement tool compiled by Zhang Yukun and Xie Yaning. This questionnaire is designed to assess the coping styles used by individuals when dealing with stress, including two dimensions: active coping and negative coping. Through this questionnaire, we can understand a person’s psychological tendencies and coping strategies when facing stress and difficulties, and then provide corresponding psychological intervention and support for individuals. This questionnaire contains a total of 20 items, using a four-level scoring method. Specifically, subjects need to choose the appropriate answer based on their actual situation, among which “do not take” is worth 0 points, “occasionally take” is worth 1 point, “sometimes take” is worth 2 points, and “frequently take” is worth 3 points. This scoring method helps to reflect in detail the frequency and tendency of individuals to adopt different coping methods. The active coping dimension is an important part of this questionnaire, which mainly reflects the characteristics of individuals adopting a positive and proactive way when dealing with stress. For example, “try to see the good side of things” and “find several different ways to solve problems” are representative items of the positive coping dimension. These strategies help individuals face problems proactively, seek solutions, and view difficulties and challenges in a positive light. On the other hand, the negative coping dimension is also one of the focuses of this questionnaire, which mainly reflects the characteristics of individuals adopting negative and passive ways when coping with stress. For example, “Relieve worries by smoking and drinking” and “Fantasy that some kind of miracle may happen to change the current situation” are typical items of the negative coping dimension. These strategies often do not help solve the problem and may exacerbate stress and distress. It should be noted that this test only provides the total score evaluation of the dimensions, that is, the scores of the positive coping dimension and the negative coping dimension are summarized. The purpose of this design is to simplify the measurement process and provide a quick assessment tool to help researchers and psychological professionals quickly understand individual coping style tendencies. By participating in this questionnaire, you will have the opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of your coping style and provide reference and guidance for your own mental health. When answering the questions, please choose the answer that best suits your actual situation based on your true feelings and experience.
