The Positive and Negative Affect Schedule (PNAS) is a psychometric tool used to assess the degree of positive and negative emotions an individual has experienced in the past month. Positive emotions refer to those pleasant, energetic and satisfying emotions, such as excitement, pride, inspiration, etc. Negative emotions refer to those unpleasant, painful and frustrating emotions, such as fear, guilt, hostility, etc. The scale consists of 20 adjectives, with 5 options after each adjective, representing the intensity of emotional experience from not at all to extremely. This scale can be divided into two dimensions, namely positive emotion score and negative emotion score. The higher the positive emotion score, the more positive emotions the individual has experienced in the past month, and vice versa. The higher the negative emotion score, the more negative emotions the individual has experienced in the past month, and vice versa. This scale can be used to understand an individual’s emotional state and the relationship between emotions and factors such as mental health, life satisfaction, and coping styles. The online assessment of the Positive and Negative Affectivity Scale (PNAS) is designed to help you understand your emotional experience in the past month and the impact of emotions on your life and psychology. Please read the following instructions carefully and choose the option that best suits you based on your actual situation. Please answer as truthfully and accurately as possible and do not be influenced by others. This assessment has a total of 20 questions, and there are 5 options after each question, representing the intensity of emotional experience from not at all to extremely. Please select the option after each question that best describes the intensity of your emotional experience based on how you have felt over the past month. For example: Interested: Not at all Less Moderately A lot Very A lot If you have been very interested in the past month, select “Very much” If you have been not interested at all in the past month, select " Not at all,” and so on. Generally speaking, there is a certain negative correlation between positive emotion test scores and negative emotion test scores, that is, the higher the positive emotion score, the lower the negative emotion score, and vice versa. But this is not absolute. Some people may experience higher positive emotions and higher negative emotions at the same time, or experience lower positive emotions and lower negative emotions at the same time. This depends on the individual’s ability to regulate emotions and the influence of situational factors. This assessment takes approximately 5 minutes. Please conduct the evaluation in a quiet and comfortable environment to avoid external interference. When you are ready, please click the start button below to start your evaluation journey.
